Meet Beverley Todd, New FPA of Miami Executive Director!

We are incredibly fortunate and excited as a chapter to have found Beverley Todd, our new Executive Director! After a thorough search in the Fall of 2017 by the FPA of Miami Executive Search & Transition Committee to find the successor to Amy Miller, whom was resigning after 15 years of outstanding chapter service & leadership - the board unanimously and enthusiastically hired Beverley to join our team. Since then, Beverley has jumped into the new position head-on, bringing fresh new ideas and her tremendous experience.

I recently sat down with Beverley to discuss her thoughts on joining the FPA of Miami, her background, and what she is most looking forward to in her new role...

What were you doing before you joined the FPA of Miami as Chapter Executive Director?

Immediately prior to joining the FPA of Miami, I was responsible for the business development of the JLT Insurance Management USA Operations (with Miami as my US base). This role followed 15 years with JLT Insurance Management (Bermuda), where I, as a member of the Bermuda Management Team, assisted with its growth and success, since its establishment in 2000.

What do you enjoy most about Miami?

I absolutely love the multitude of activities available at my fingertips, from the variety of restaurants, live concerts (one of my very favorites pastimes!) to just having the ability to get in my car for a long drive to see something or somewhere new. After living for 21 years in the beautiful but very small Island of Bermuda, its amazing how appreciative I am of the simple pleasures.

What have been your early impressions of the organization and chapter and what has you most excited?

The FPA Board members show real passion and excitement towards the 2018 FPA of Miami re-launch – it’s a totally contagious feeling which makes me both proud and excited to be a part of this Team!

Can you share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that might be surprising to our members?

I am a ‘Big Sister’ (via the Big Brother and Sisters of Bermuda) to a delightful and intelligent 22 year old – a relationship which has evolved from her beginnings as a rather shy but always loving 5 year-old young girl.
